Leveraged $70 million in savings from active projects to fund a new cancer center and identified and reallocated an additional $22 million

October 18, 2018 — e-Builder, a Trimble Company, and a leading SaaS-based construction program management solution for capital project owners and program management firms, has announced the winners of the company’s “Innovators in Construction” award for 2018.  The Illinois Tollway was recognized in the Public Infrastructure category and Jackson Health System in the Public Building category at Elevate, e-Builder’s annual user conference in Ft. Lauderdale.  The conference is the largest owner conference in North America, and every year brings hundreds of innovators in construction technology to South Florida to advance their skills and network with one another.

The Innovators in Construction award recognizes owner organizations that demonstrate excellence in using technology to efficiently drive substantial building projects, ultimately freeing up resources that can be reinvested in the community.

The Illinois Tollway relies on e-Builder to more efficiently and effectively coordinate efforts related to management of the agency’s 15-year, $14 billion capital improvement program, Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future. The Tollway, which maintains and operates a 294-mile system that is comprised of five roadways in Northern Illinois, is currently working with more than 1,200 unique firms and handling more than 500 construction and engineering contracts to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. The Tollway uses e-Builder to create an efficient and transparent operating environment that enhances collaboration and the consistent application of project management processes and practices across a large group of stakeholders.

Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida is one of the largest health systems in the country and the only public health system in Miami-Dade County. Jackson has six hospitals, multiple specialty and primary care clinics, and a network of UHealth Jackson urgent care centers throughout the county. The system’s 10-year, $1.5 billion Miracle Building Program – believed to be one of the nation’s most ambitious hospital capital programs – consists of multiple projects, including building a new, state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital; a new medical campus in the City of Doral; renovations at all the system’s hospitals; and the opening of several urgent care centers throughout Miami-Dade County. Approximately $1 billion of the program is for capital improvements, with the remaining dollars reinvested into technology and equipment. Currently, the Jackson team has 72 active projects in e-Builder in every phase of development.

To compile the list, the publication evaluated privately-held South Florida technology companies based on revenue percentage growth and dollar revenue growth. This is the fifth year in a row e-Builder has made the prestigious list.

In February of this year e-Builder was acquired by Trimble, a move that helps the company extend its reach and collective ability to best support owners and contractors with project delivery and management.
