e-Builder Named 2003 Best Internet-Based Application

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – September 4, 2003 – And the winner is… e-Builder! When e-Builder CEO and co-founder Jon Antevy’s college professors urged him to start his own business nine years ago, little did he know the impact his ideas would have on construction management and that he would one day be accepting awards for his company’s contributions to the construction industry.

Amongst a field of other innovative and successful companies, e-Builder, which offers Web-based project management systems for new construction and renovation projects received honors from the South Florida Business Journal. The software company triumphed as the winner of the fifth annual Technology Awards in the Internet-based Category, presented in August 2003 at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida.

Since its inception in 1995 from an idea based on Antevy’s University of Florida graduate thesis, e-Builder has come of age and continues to gain market share and recognition. The thesis-turned-business-plan has resulted in a cost-effective and valuable system that allows a formerly disparate group—owners, architects, engineers and contractors—to communicate vital project data in real-time using the Internet. The e-Builder system streamlines the building process, lowers cost, and typically leads to an on-time or early completion—with fewer problems along the way.

“We are delighted to receive the 2003 Technology Award for best Internet-based application,” said Jonathan Antevy, e-Builder CEO and co-founder. “It is an honor to be recognized by our colleagues in this market, especially when the judges and competition were so formidable.”

A prestigious panel of judges, including Jonathan Cole of Edwards & Angell, Jane Teague of Enterprise Development Corporation, and Ravi Ugale of Crossbow Ventures, decided upon the Technology Award, presented by the South Florida Business Journal.
