Fort Lauderdale, FL – April 23rd, 2012 - e-Builder, the number one provider of owner-centric capital project and program management software to hospitals, announced today that Scottsdale Healthcare has selected e-Builder Enterprise to centralize construction program information management, and to enable a more efficient and standardized approach to cost control and budget management. e-Builder will replace multiple Access databases, and was selected because of its strong market share in the healthcare field, and its ability to manage project information from an owner’s perspective.
Scottsdale Health’s construction department has been operating within the hospital system for about 50 years, and over time, managing projects with rapidly evolving technology requirements has become more and more complex. Walt Shumway, System Manager of Construction, said “the first thing we wanted to accomplish was to quantify the amount of projects and capital that we’re managing, and centralize all this information in one place vs. spread out across multiple team members”. The new system will provide a complete view into program cost summary information in an easily accessible electronic format.
e-Builder will also provide a mechanism that will ensure project managers have visibility into project performance so that corrective steps can be taken to avoid scope creep, or if projects veer off course. “I’ll be able to pull up reports and have a quick snapshot of where we are” added Shumway. “We can easily see how many commitments we’ve made against the baseline budget, and forecast more accurately so that we can correlate that data and quickly determine how well we’re doing. We also expect that the accuracy of forecasts will improve.” The team will also leverage the recently upgraded e-Builder Mobile app to access information using iPads.
e-Builder process automation capabilities will facilitate a payment process with GCs whereby cost code structures mirror CSI divisions, making it easy to apply a payment directly to an existing commitment. e-Builder will also enable a paperless Project Request process so that requests for construction services can be submitted online. Users can upload and attach documents that support their request, stakeholders will be notified as requests are submitted, and the Design and Construction team can run reports to see project requests as they occur.
“We are humbled that Scottsdale Healthcare have entrusted their construction program information management needs to us” said Jonathan Antevy, e-Builder CEO. “As healthcare reform continues to pose new funding challenges to our healthcare systems, we expect more of these will explore e-Builder as a way to reduce construction project costs” added Antevy.
We'll share how others do more with less using e-Builder.
