Chicago Transit Authority

Imagine maintaining the transportation infrastructure to support the nation’s second largest public transportation system. That responsibility falls to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), who delivers rail and bus services to 40 suburbs, in addition to the City of Chicago. On an average weekday, approximately 1.6 million rides are taken on the CTA’s bus and rail system. The CTA is an independent governmental agency created by state legislation.
